Socially responsible entrepreneurship

Is your company future-oriented?
If it is, sustainability is of paramount importance to you.
That is the essence of socially responsible entrepreneurship.

Socially responsible entrepreneurship

Progressive operational management pays attention to social and economic aspects. There can be a responsible balance between the two. For example through sustainable modular construction with consideration for humans, the environment and society. Verlaat Uden Bouwsystemen opts for this type of entrepreneurship.

Building sustainably in Mexico

A current example of socially responsible entrepreneurship is a large housing project in Mexico that we are intensively involved in. Lengthy rainfall and irresponsible wood cutting caused devastating mudflows in the Mexican federal state of Veracruz. Tens of thousands of people lost their homes. In a short period of time we developed a concept for very affordable living units. The construction parts for these houses were produced in our factory in Uden and shipped to Mexico. Under the guidance of our own specialists, the first 500 casitas were completed.

Also, we share our expertise in modular construction with building companies in Mexico, so that the building parts can be produced locally in the future. Through saving the high transport costs from Uden to Veracruz we will then be able to build 10% more casitas with the same budget. This way, Verlaat Uden Bouwsystemen, as co-initiator of Kenniscentrum Systeembouwend Nederland (Dutch knowledge centre for modular construction), we provide a practical and cost-neutral contribution to the accommodation of homeless families in Mexico.
